How to generate fake test data
- Pick a starting template (Users, Orders, Products or Companies) or build your own list of fields.
- For each field choose a name and a type: names, emails, phone numbers, addresses, companies, prices, dates, UUIDs, IP addresses, booleans, sentences or your own list of values. Number and date fields take a range such as
1-100or2024-01-01..2026-12-31. - Set how many rows you need (up to 100,000) and the output format: JSON, CSV, SQL INSERT statements, NDJSON or a Markdown table.
- Copy the result or download it as a file. The address bar keeps your schema, so you can bookmark it or send the link to your team.
Realistic, repeatable and private
Every row is built around one consistent fictional person and place, so the email matches the name and the city matches the country. Emails use the reserved example.com, example.org and example.net domains, UK phone numbers use the Ofcom drama range (07700 900xxx) and US numbers use 555, so the data can never reach a real person. Names come from many cultures to catch bugs with different name shapes.
The generator is seeded: the same seed and fields always produce the same data, which makes tests and screenshots reproducible. Press 🎲 for a fresh set. Use mock data to seed development databases, fill prototypes and dashboards, test imports and CSV parsers, load-test APIs, write documentation examples and teach SQL, all without copying real customer data. Everything is generated in your browser; nothing is uploaded.
Is the fake data safe to use?
Yes. It is random and fictional. Emails use reserved example domains and phone numbers use ranges set aside for fiction, so nothing points to a real person.
Can I get the same data again?
Yes. Keep the same seed and fields, or share the page link, which stores them.
Which SQL dialect do the INSERT statements use?
Standard SQL that works in PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQLite and SQL Server. Rows are batched 500 per statement for speed.
How many rows can I generate?
Up to 100,000 rows. Large results are shown as a preview but copied and downloaded in full.
