How to use the EMOM timer
- Each round is 60 seconds with no separate rest. Set the number of rounds to the minutes you want (10 by default).
- Press Start. At the top of each minute, a beep signals the start of the next round.
- Do your set of reps as soon as the minute starts, then rest for whatever time is left.
- For an E2MOM (every 2 minutes), set work to 120 seconds.
About EMOM training
"Every minute on the minute" workouts are common in CrossFit, strength and conditioning. They make you work at a steady pace: if your reps take 40 seconds, you rest 20; as you tire, your rest shrinks, which builds work capacity. Coaches use them for skill practice (such as 3 power cleans every minute for 10 minutes), conditioning (alternating burpees and kettlebell swings) or density work at a fixed load.
Choose a number of reps you can finish in 30–40 seconds when fresh. If you cannot complete the reps within the minute, reduce them rather than eating into the next round. Alternate movements on odd and even minutes for longer EMOMs. The timer runs in your browser and keeps the screen awake where supported.
