How to convert text to lowercase
- Paste the text you want to change, for example something typed with Caps Lock on.
- Press the highlighted lowercase button, which comes first.
- Copy the result, or press Sentence case instead to restore capitals at the start of each sentence.
Fixing Caps Lock accidents and more
Everyone has typed a whole paragraph before noticing Caps Lock was on. Instead of retyping it, paste it here and convert it back. Lowercase is also useful for email addresses, web addresses and usernames, which are usually case-insensitive and look tidier in lowercase, for tags and file names, and for preparing text for data cleaning, where "Apple" and "APPLE" should be treated as the same word.
If you need proper capitalisation back afterwards, the Sentence case result capitalises the first letter of each sentence, and Title Case capitalises headings. Names and acronyms will need a quick manual check, because no tool can know that "nasa" should be NASA.
