JSON to CSV Converter

Turn a JSON array into a CSV for Excel or Sheets

How to convert JSON to CSV

  1. Paste a JSON array of objects, such as an API response, or open a .json file. If the JSON is an object containing an array (like {"data": [...]}), the array is found automatically.
  2. Nested objects are flattened into dot-separated columns such as address.city. Untick Flatten nested to keep them as JSON text instead.
  3. Choose the delimiter. Use semicolons for Excel in countries where the comma is the decimal separator.
  4. Check the table preview, then download the CSV. It includes a byte-order mark so Excel shows accented characters correctly.

How the columns are built

The column list is the union of all keys across every object, in the order they first appear, so objects with missing fields simply produce empty cells rather than shifted columns. Arrays inside objects, such as a list of tags, are written as JSON text in a single cell so no data is lost. Fields containing commas, quotes or line breaks are wrapped in quotes and inner quotes are doubled, exactly as spreadsheets expect.

This is the quickest way to open API data, logs, MongoDB exports or analytics results in Excel, Google Sheets or Numbers, or to load them into tools that only accept CSV. The conversion runs entirely in your browser, so your data stays private.

FAQ

How do I open JSON in Excel?

Convert it here, download the CSV, and open it in Excel. Excel also has Data → Get Data → From JSON, but it requires more steps for nested data.

What happens to nested arrays?

They are stored as JSON text in one cell, for example ["a","b"], so you can still see and parse them.

Is there a row limit?

No fixed limit. Tens of thousands of rows convert quickly; the preview shows the first 100.
