How to draw Secret Santa names online
- Enter everyone taking part, one name per line.
- Add couples or anyone who should not draw each other, one pair per line (for example "Anna, Ben").
- Optionally set a budget and the date of the gift exchange, then press Draw names.
- Copy each person's private link and send it to them by message or email. When they open it, they tap to reveal who they are buying for.
Private, fair and no sign-up
Every person gets exactly one recipient, nobody draws themselves, and exclusions are respected. The draw is made with your browser's secure random generator, trying random assignments until it finds one that satisfies every rule. If your exclusions make a draw impossible (for example, three people who all exclude each other), you will be told instead of getting a broken result.
No email addresses are collected and nothing is stored on a server. Each link carries its own match inside the address, lightly encoded so the name is not visible at a glance. That means the organiser can take part without knowing everyone's match: just do not open other people's links, and leave "Show all matches" unticked. Because the links contain the result, keep them private and do not post them in a group chat. Works for families, offices, classrooms and friends, as well as Secret Santa variants such as Kris Kringle, Wichteln and Amigo Secreto.
Can the organiser also take part?
Yes. Send yourself your own link and do not look at the others or the full list.
What if someone loses their link?
Links do not expire, so simply copy it again while this page is still open, or redo the draw.
How do I stop couples drawing each other?
Add them as an exclusion pair; both directions are blocked.
