  1. Take a front-facing photo against a plain white background, with both ears visible if possible and a neutral expression.
  2. Drop it here. Choose "India passport (35 × 45 mm)" or "India visa (2 × 2 in)".
  3. Fit the head between the guides, centred.
  4. Download the photo or a sheet of copies to print.

Indian passport and visa photo sizes

For Indian passports issued through Passport Seva, the standard photograph is 35 × 45 mm in colour with a white background, the face covering about 70–80% of the photo, eyes open and no glasses glare. Passport Seva Kendras usually capture the photo themselves at the appointment, but printed photos are needed for some forms, attestations and applications made abroad. Indian e-visa applications ask for a square 2 × 2 inch style image with a plain light or white background, uploaded as a JPEG of at least 350 × 350 pixels (and up to 1 MB).

Check the current rules on the official Passport Seva or Indian visa website before applying. The tool processes the photo locally in your browser without uploading it.
