Embed this tool on your website

Free for blogs, schools and businesses. Paste this HTML where the tool should appear; it runs in your visitors' browsers and stores nothing. The last line only resizes the frame to fit, so you can leave it out if your site removes scripts.

How to make a QR code

  1. Choose what the code should contain: a website link, plain text, Wi-Fi login, a contact card, an email, SMS, phone call, WhatsApp chat, map location or calendar event.
  2. Fill in the fields. The QR code updates instantly as you type.
  3. Optionally change the colours, raise the error correction or add your logo in the centre (error correction is raised to High automatically so it still scans).
  4. Download a PNG up to 2048 pixels, or an SVG for print and design work, which stays sharp at any size. For Wi-Fi codes, Print card makes a ready-to-frame sign for guests.

Static QR codes that never expire

Many "free" QR generators create dynamic codes that redirect through their servers, then stop working or show ads unless you pay. The codes here are static: the information is stored directly in the pattern, so they work forever, offline, with any phone camera and without tracking. The trade-off is that you cannot change the content after printing, so test the code before you print a thousand flyers.

The encoder is built into this page and follows the QR Code standard (ISO/IEC 18004): it picks the smallest version that fits your data, adds Reed–Solomon error correction and chooses the mask pattern that is easiest to scan. Higher error correction lets the code survive scratches, dirt or a logo, at the cost of a denser pattern.

Tips for reliable scanning

Do these QR codes expire?

No. They are static codes with the content embedded, so they keep working as long as the link or details inside are valid.

Is my Wi-Fi password safe?

Yes. The code is generated in your browser and nothing is sent to a server. Anyone who scans the printed code can of course read the password, which is the point for guests.

Can I put a logo in my QR code?

Yes. Use Add logo in the Style section. Error correction is set to High so the code still scans with the centre covered.

How do I scan a QR code?

Open your phone's camera and point it at the code, or use the QR Scanner on this site, which also reads codes from images.
