Free online teleprompter with mirror mode

Script

Keys: Space start/pause · ↑/↓ speed · ←/→ jump · F full screen · M mirror. Tap the screen to start or pause.

How to use the online teleprompter

  1. Paste or type your script in the Script box.
  2. Set the text size and scrolling speed. Large text and a slow speed are easier to read from a distance.
  3. Press Start or tap the black screen. After a 3-2-1 countdown, the text scrolls smoothly past the red reading line.
  4. Press the space bar or tap to pause, use the arrow keys to adjust speed or jump, and go full screen for recording.

Tips for reading naturally

Place the device as close to your camera lens as possible so your eyes stay near the camera: a laptop screen directly under a webcam, or a tablet or phone just below a camera on a tripod. Keep about 3 to 5 words per line by increasing the text size; your eyes move less and viewers are less likely to notice you reading. Rehearse once at a slightly slower speed than feels natural, and add blank lines in the script where you want to pause.

The Mirror option flips the text horizontally for use with a beam-splitter teleprompter rig, where the screen is reflected in angled glass in front of the camera.

Use it for YouTube videos, video calls and webinars, presentations, wedding speeches, school projects and voice-overs. The script is saved only in your browser and is never uploaded.

Does the teleprompter work on a phone or tablet?

Yes. Tap the screen to start and pause. For hands-free control, use a Bluetooth keyboard or presentation clicker that sends space or arrow keys.

How fast should a teleprompter scroll?

Most people speak at 120–150 words per minute. Start slow, then adjust with the up and down arrow keys while you read.

What is mirror mode for?

Professional teleprompters reflect the screen in glass, which reverses the text. Mirror mode flips it so the reflection reads correctly.
