VAT rates in the Netherlands
| Rate | Applies to (examples) |

| 0% | exports and intra-EU supplies to businesses |
In Netherlands the tax is called BTW (belasting toegevoegde waarde). To add 21%, multiply the net price by 1.21: €100.00 becomes €121.00. To remove it, divide the gross price by 1.21: €100.00 including VAT is €82.64 net plus €17.36 VAT. A common mistake is to take 21% off the gross price, which removes too much; the VAT share of a gross price is 21/121, or 17.36%.
Small businesses can opt for the KOR (kleineondernemersregeling) and then do not charge BTW. Prices for consumers must include BTW.
Standard and reduced rates checked on 20 October 2026 against the Belastingdienst. Rates can change with each budget; the rate box is editable if a change takes effect.
