In Poland the tax is called VAT (podatek od towarów i usług, PTU). To add 23%, multiply the net price by 1.23: zł 100.00 becomes zł 123.00. To remove it, divide the gross price by 1.23: zł 100.00 including VAT is zł 81.30 net plus zł 18.70 VAT. A common mistake is to take 23% off the gross price, which removes too much; the VAT share of a gross price is 23/123, or 18.70%.
Polish businesses issue structured e-invoices through KSeF, the national e-invoicing system, being phased in from 2026. Prices for consumers are shown gross (brutto); netto is the price without VAT.
Standard and reduced rates checked on 20 October 2026 against the Ministry of Finance (podatki.gov.pl). Rates can change with each budget; the rate box is editable if a change takes effect.
