Packing Checklist

A travel packing list built for your trip

How to use the packing checklist

  1. Enter the length of your trip and tick whether you can do laundry while away.
  2. Choose what applies: flying, travelling abroad, beach, cold weather, business, hiking, camping, travelling with a baby or working out.
  3. Tick items off as you pack. Quantities of clothes scale with the number of days. Add anything personal at the bottom.
  4. Print the list or copy it into your notes. Your ticks are saved in this browser, so you can pack over several days.

Packing smarter

A good checklist prevents the two classic travel problems: forgetting something important (passport, charger, medication) and overpacking. The list starts with essentials everyone needs and adds sections for the kind of trip you are taking. For clothes, it suggests underwear and socks for every day plus one spare, tops for most days and fewer trousers, since they can be worn several times. If you can do laundry, quantities are capped at about four days' worth, which is how experienced travellers manage with carry-on luggage only.

A few habits help: keep documents, medication, chargers and a change of clothes in your hand luggage; check your passport's expiry date (many countries require six months' validity) and any visa requirements well in advance; use the 100 ml rule for liquids when flying; and photograph important documents in case they are lost. Your list and ticks stay in your browser and are never uploaded.

How many outfits should I pack for a week?

About 7 sets of underwear and socks, 5–6 tops and 2–3 bottoms, fewer if you can do laundry.

Can I save my packing list?

Yes. It is saved automatically in this browser. Use Copy to paste it into notes or share it.

What should go in my carry-on?

Passport, money, phone, chargers, medication, valuables and one change of clothes.
