How to add text to a PDF

  1. Drop the PDF on the box and go to the page you want to write on with the arrows.
  2. Press Add text. A text box appears; tap it and type. Press Enter for a new line.
  3. Drag the box into position. Change its size with the slider or the round handle, and its colour with the colour picker.
  4. Use Date and Tick for quick entries, add a signature if needed, then press Save PDF.

Fill in any form, even flat ones

Many PDFs you are asked to fill in are not interactive: scanned forms, letters to return, permission slips and applications. Instead of printing, writing and scanning them again, type directly onto the page. The text is written into the PDF as real text in Helvetica, so it prints sharply and can be searched. For PDFs with real form fields, the Fill PDF Form tool is quicker.

Standard PDF fonts support Western European characters. Other scripts and emoji are replaced, so check the result before sending.

Everything happens in your browser: the PDF is never uploaded, and there is no watermark or account.

FAQ

Can I edit existing text in a PDF?

Not directly. You can cover it with a white box or add new text on top; true text editing needs desktop PDF software.

How do I write on a PDF on my phone?

Open this page on your phone, choose the PDF, tap Add text and type with your keyboard.

Will the text be selectable?

Yes. Added text is real PDF text, so it can be selected and searched.
