  3. For events, set the number of tables, seats per table and the shape (round or long), then rename tables ("Top table", "Family") and change seat counts one by one. For classrooms, set the rows and desks per row.
  4. Seat people: tap a name and then a seat, or drag names onto seats on a computer. Tap a filled seat to move or remove someone. Fill empty seats seats the rest in list order and Shuffle everyone makes a random plan.
  5. Print the chart (tables plus an alphabetical "Find your seat" list for the entrance) or export a CSV for place cards and spreadsheets.

Seating plan tips

For weddings, start with the top table and the people who must sit together (couples, parents of young children, guests who only know each other), then fill the remaining tables by group: family, school friends, work friends. Seat older guests away from speakers and near exits and toilets, and children with their parents unless there is a supervised kids' table. Round tables of 8โ€“10 suit conversation; a 60-inch (152 cm) round seats 8 comfortably, and a 72-inch (183 cm) seats 10. Allow about 24 inches (60 cm) of table edge per person.

Teachers often seat students alphabetically at the start of the year to learn names, then rearrange to separate talkative pairs, place students who need support near the front or the door, and mix abilities for group work. The shuffle button gives a fresh random arrangement for each term or project, and the CSV export makes a handy register.

Your lists stay on this device and are saved automatically, so you can come back and adjust the plan as RSVPs arrive. Nothing is uploaded.
