How to convert JSON to Excel
- Drop a .json file or paste JSON and click Use pasted data.
- Check the table preview: each object becomes a row and each key a column.
- Click Download Excel (.xlsx), or download CSV instead.
Which JSON works?
The converter expects an array of records, the shape most APIs and exports return: [{"name":"Ann","age":31},{"name":"Bob","age":27}]. Columns are the union of all keys in the order they first appear, so records with missing fields simply leave empty cells. If the JSON is an object that contains an array (for example {"results":[…]}), the first array is used. An array of arrays is treated as rows of cells directly.
Nested objects and arrays are written as compact JSON text in their cell, which keeps the data intact; flatten them first if you need separate columns. Numbers stay numeric and booleans become TRUE/FALSE text. The conversion happens in your browser, so API responses with personal or internal data never leave your machine.
